So what is a Heartifact?

Simply put it’s a gorgeous image of an object you hold dear. Dig a little deeper and it’s a tribute to the story behind some “thing” that is part of who you are.

Whether passed down, gifted or collected, the keepsakes and treasures we hold on to represent a special person, place or time in our lives. Heartifacts was born out of a love for capturing this emotional connection through photography, and the result is a beautiful and engaging piece of framed art.

The Evolution of a Heartifact

Our process begins with a consultation. After we have spoken, you will select your Heartifact and carefully package and ship it to us to photograph. We require that you ship items insured through UPS or FedEx. We also offer pick-up service within the Charlotte metro and Western NC region.

Once your item is received, we begin the technical process of capturing the perfect image. Several proofs will be provided through a password protected client portal. At this time, with our help, you will select your favorite image, as well as the print medium, size and frame for your Heartifact. Your keepsake item and your framed commission art will be returned to you within 3 to 4 weeks to enjoy.

Your final Heartifact will be labeled on the back with a descriptive title and approximate date of authenticity to preserve it’s story. Looking to preserve the memory in more detail? Longer narrative options are available and the creation process is fully customizable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the investment?: Our packages start at $500 for original, framed commission artwork. The price of your Heartifact depends on the size and framing you choose. We will review our package options with you in detail during our initial consultation. A deposit of 50% is required. Payments may be made with Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, check or ACH.
Should I be nervous about shipping my item?: We understand you may be uneasy about shipping priceless keepsakes, so we require all our clients to carefully package and ship your item insured through UPS or FedEx. We ask that you provide us with the tracking number the same day your item leaves your hands. Rest assured, we will handle your item with careful attention and delicate hands.
Will you pick up my item?: If you work or reside in the Charlotte metro area or Western NC, we are happy to arrange a meeting to receive your Heartifact. Pick up and/or delivery beyond 50 miles is available for a fee.
How long is the process?: Once your item is received in our studio, you can expect a 3 to 4 week turnaround for delivery of your item and your Heartifact.
Am I charged for shipping?: You are responsible for shipping your item to our studio. Return shipping of your item and Heartifact are included in our package pricing.
Will I see a proof?: Yes. Prior to printing, we will send a proof to review.
